Paphiopedilum godefroyae (Godefroy-Lebeuf) Stein
- Described: Godefroy-Lebeuf in L'Orchidophile, 830 (1883)
- Transferred: Stein in Stein's Orchideenbuch, 468 (1892)
- Etymology: Named for the wife of the French nurseryman, Godefroy-Lebeuf, who first flowered the plant in Europe. Collected in the Birdsnest Islands of Thailand by Murton and Alabaster.
- Varieties & Forms:
Paphiopedilum godefroyae var. leucochilum (Rolfe in the Orchid Review, 2: 145-146 (May 1894)) Hallier fil. in Annales du Jardin Botanique de Buitzenborg, 14: 18-52 (1897) - variety easily differentiated by the pure white lip

Plant Habit
- Leaves: 4-6, up to 14 cm long, 3 cm wide, above mottled dark and pale green, below purple-spotted
- Inflorescence: 1- (rarely 2-) flowered, 4-8 cm long, purple, shortly pubescent
- Bloom: extremely variable, 4-9 cm wide

- Distribution -
- Elevation: sea level - 100 m
- Peak Flowering in the Wild: June-September
- Ecology: usually in pockets of limestone rocks at less than 20 m elevation, some receiving an occasional dousing of sea water
- Mean Temperature Range: 25-29 °C
- Light: light-moderate shade
- Medium: calcareous, humus and leaf litter
